Volunteer at WCAP this tax season!

We have an opportunity to provide an important service to our community this spring, but we need a few dedicated volunteers to make it happen.

We would like to be a Scan-and-Go site for CA$H Maine, which provides free tax preparation assistance to certain filers. Our volunteers would simply be scanning and uploading documents for clients that drop off paperwork at WCAP and getting their final signatures. With volunteers, we could take part in this important project for the first time!

No experience is required and we provide free training! All appointment scheduling is done through 211, not by our volunteers.

Important dates:
• online training is happening in January
• help is needed from the first week of February until mid April

The job:
• you would scan and upload tax documents into an online program a few hours a week (or whatever your schedule allows) on Tuesday or Thursday between 9am and 3pm
• someone else does all of the tax preparation and lets you know when it's ready
• you print the documents and have the clients sign the paperwork during their pre-scheduled return appointment

Please note:
• Volunteers will be based at our office in Belfast where we require masks and practice social distancing.
