RFB Advertising LLC, developer of the award-winning travelMAINE Mobile App, has announced it will donate 10 percent of proceeds received from golf courses that purchase a business profile on the app, to The First Tee of Maine. The pledge is being made as part of the company’s “Play Golf? Play Maine!” initiative.

The First Tee of Maine is the state chapter of a nationwide junior golf program designed to impact the lives of young people in Maine by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Introduced in 2012, the travelMAINE Mobile App was voted Best Mobile Directory by the Web Marketing Association of America. Designed to be used by visitors and locals alike, the app features places to eat, stay, shop and play. A business profile allows businesses to post photos, video and even time-sensitive offers. It includes a map feature and the capability to link to a Facebook page. To access the app, users may scan a QR Code or simply type into any smartphone or tablet’s browser.

“One of the goals of our “Play Golf? Play Maine!” initiative is to create the first comprehensive directory of Maine golf courses on a mobile platform,” said travelMAINE spokesperson Park Morrison. “To that end, we are pleased to make this pledge to The First Tee of Maine, a program dedicated to growing the game of golf.”

Morrison noted that with more 120 golf courses in the state, the potential donation could exceed $2,500.

Ron Bibeau, Executive Director of The First Tee of Maine said, “I would like to thank Park and travelMAINE for identifying The First Tee of Maine as a beneficiary of travelMAINE’s “Play Golf? Play Maine!” initiative. The generosity given to our organization will ensure that more young people will be affected by our Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits.”

The First Tee of Maine offices are located at the Val Halla Golf Club in Cumberland. For information on its programs conducted at courses throughout the state, contact Ron Bibeau at 207-809-9030, email or visit their website:
