Tall Pines – A Family Business Again

The Tall Pines community has become a family business again.  Matt Griswold has returned to the Executive Director position at Tall Pines.  Griswold originally joined the Tall Pines team in 2002 at the request of his father to help to revive and grow his family’s business.  Matt stepped away in early 2016 and returned in December of 2018.

Prior to becoming Tall Pines’ administrator, Matt learned the unique struggles and strengths of The Commons while he completed his Administrator in Training Program on site.  Upon receiving his Maine State Multi-Level Long Term Care Administrator License in 2003, Matt began directing the future of the Tall Pines community.

In 2005, Matt guided the planning and development of The Residence to provide quality, affordable Independent and Assisted living options to area seniors.  Further, he converted a portion of The Commons to provide residential care, ensuring that Tall Pines has options for people with every level of need regardless of income.
Prior to beginning his career at Tall Pines, Matt graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
In 1997, he began working in the health care industry, initially with emotionally challenged youth and later at a home for men with Acquired Traumatic Brain Injuries.
Matt enjoys applying his expertise in healthcare to ensure that all Tall Pines community members experience a compassionate, hospitable and healing environment.

Returning with Matt is Charndra Michaud, Resident Services Director at The Residence.  Matt and Charndra have worked together in healthcare for over twenty years, fourteen of which have been as husband and wife.  They are both very excited to return to Tall Pines.

“I feel very fortunate.” Griswold said of returning, “Not only do I have the opportunity to continue doing what I love, but I have that opportunity with an amazing team of professionals.  From our managers to our caregivers to our support staff and volunteers, Tall Pines has the best people.  Now I get to work with them again!”

Matt and Charndra are both invested in ensuring that the whole Tall Pines community continues to provide the best inpatient and outpatient care to the greater Belfast community.
