Giving Back to the Community

We are looking forward to Spring here at Rockport Automotive.  With each season comes changes in car service and repair but one thing that won’t change is the quality of service that you have come to expect.  Justin and Mike will strive to continue to provide you with the same friendly, knowledgeable customer service at the desk and on the phone.

Supporting the community remains important to Rockport Automotive and we strive to make a difference by partnering with other local organizations.  Every month, $5.00 from each oil change goes back to a recipient in the community.  We invite organizations to contact Kristin to inquire how your organization can become a recipient of this program.  Please email for more information.  Space is still available for 2022.

We are excited to announce our third Giving Back recipient for 2022:

Herring Gut Learning Center!

Through hands-on study and experience in aquaculture and marine science, they teach students to embrace learning, appreciate science and the environment, and help them grow as individuals. 2021 was a year of transition for Herring Gut Learning Center in Port Clyde, Maine. Emerging out of the depths of the pandemic, they literally reinvented themselves -- and thier programs -- in order to reach students who could not travel to the campus or even go to classrooms in many cases. Since Herring Gut was founded 22 years ago, they have excelled at delivering experiential education programs to future generations of environmental and economic leaders who will be making crucial decisions on the health and wellbeing of our region.

In addition to Herring Gut programs at St. George Municipal Regional School District, they provide summer learning experiences for children in the region. they welcome visitors to their coastal campus, share produce from their aquaponics program with food pantries and local businesses, present outdoor programming and host amazing community events.

2022 will be a year of growth and expansion. The decision to hire two new Aquatic/Aquaculture Science Educators to the professional staff allows them to enhance their educational outreach to the St. George and Rockland Schools, offer after school/vacation programs and launch their signature watershed education curriculum Fresh to Salt in the Kennebec River region. They also will be able to upgrade facilities at Herring Gut itself including our renovated Saltwater Lab.

The impact of community support means reaching thousands of more visitors, educating hundreds more school age children and continuing our mission as the "go to resource" for marine, aquaculture/aquaponics and environmental education for the Midcoast Maine region and beyond.

Come to Rockport Automotive to get your oil changed TODAY and help give back to our local community!

We look forward seeing you soon!
