CAMDEN, ME, JANUARY 4, 2022 – Press Release – Matthew Levin, Director of Hotels for the Bay View Collection, presented a check today to Becca Gildred and Louisa Crane, from the Knox County Homeless Coalition. The donation of $800.00 is in support of the organization’s comprehensive programs and services to adults, families, and youth in Midcoast Maine. KCHC’s client are team of professional case managers assists homeless individuals and families to transition from crisis and uncertainty to stability and hope.

The donation was a result of 16 Bay View’s ongoing “Great Rates for a Great Cause” campaign. Guests who choose to participate receive a 50% discount off their two or more-night stay, and in exchange for this significantly discounted room rate, guests make a minimum donation of $35/night to the Knox Co. Homeless Coalition. This offer began in mid-November of last year and continues through April 30th, 2022.

Knox Co. Homeless Coalition is just one of several giving campaigns that the Bay View Collection is offering this winter and spring. At Grand Harbor Inn they are offering a similar discount to guests in support of Trekkers, and at Lord Camden Inn, they are supporting New Hope Midcoast (formerly New Hope for Women).

“The spirit of giving is still alive,” says Levin. “With the continued uncertainty of COVID on the travel and tourism industry, my heart is warmed by the kind and giving nature by those that were willing and able to visit Camden and participate in this campaign so far”. Levin goes on to say, “we expect additional funds to be generated this winter and early spring as travel hopefully picks back up.”

Becca Gildred, Director of Development for KCHC, says “homelessness and housing insecurity often goes unnoticed in contrast to the beauty of the Midcoast. It is with immense gratitude that we accept these donations and recognize the courageous efforts of the staff at 16 Bayview to shed light on this often misunderstood subject. We believe it takes an integrated and systemic approach, and community-wide collaboration to create lasting solutions for the families we serve. The Bayview Collection has been a long-standing supporter of our work and we couldn't have been happier to partner with them on this program.”
